The Executive Chairman of Oru West Local Government Area of Imo State, Engr. Ikenna Adikibe has given an assurance that no child of the LGA will be left behind in his administration’s commitment to invest in their future.

Engr. Adikibe made this promise in his address during the International Children’s Day Celebration, with the theme: Stand Up, Speak Up; Building a Bullying Free Generation, at the LGA headquarters, Mgbidi, yesterday, May 27.

He asserted that his administration believes that investing in the lives and education of the children is investigating in the future of the LGA, saying that he is committed to ensuring that schools in the LGA are equipped and teachers supported to perform at their optimum level.

The LGA Chairman disclosed that efforts were already on to improve infrastructure in the Primary and Secondary Schools, support the pupils and students with learning materials, as well as strengthening children healthcare across communities in the LGA.

Adikibe further gave an assurance that he will continue to strive to build a peaceful, safe and prosperous LGA where every child can thrive.

He dished out words of appreciation and encouragement to parents, teachers and the children thus: “To our parents; thank you for your sacrifices and dedication. Raising a child is no a small task, but your effort will never be in vain

“To our teachers; you are nation builders. Thank you for shaping minds and building with love and discipline.

“And to our dear children; remember this; you are never too young to dream and never too small to make a difference. Work hard, stay curious, be kind and always believe in yourselves”.

The Executive Chairman also read the  speech of President Bola Tinubu, where the President reeled out the programmes, policies and actions of his administration geared towards the betterment of the Nigerian children, as well as securing and safeguarding their future.
