A 49-year-old woman, identified as Victoria Idowu, has reportedly hanged herself on a ceiling fan in her residence in the Magboro area of Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State.

It was reported that her son, on Sunday, discovered her body upon his return from a church service, prompting him to raise the alarm.

Confirming the incident, the State Police Public Relations Officer, OmololaOdutola, said that no suicide note was found at the scene.

She disclosed that law enforcement officers from the Ibafo Division were dispatched to investigate further and unravel the circumstances behind the incident.

Odutola stated, “According to the son, he came back from the church and discovered that his mother, one MrsIdowu Victoria, aged 49 years of the same address, had committed suicide by hanging herself on the ceiling fan inside her room.

“The DPO immediately drafted men to the scene. No suicide note was found.”

The PPRO urged members of the public to always provide support to their loved ones who may be suffering from mental health challenges.
