A Nigerian family has been thrown into mourning following the death of a young man, identified as Chimezie, who reportedly passed away in the United Kingdom only months after his wife joined him there.
The deceased’s godparent announced the heartbreaking news in an emotional tribute, expressing disbelief over his sudden death and describing the loss as particularly painful given that he had been married for only about a year and a few months.
According to the tribute, Chimezie returned to the UK after his wedding, while his wife joined him later this year. The couple reportedly spent just about four months together in the UK before his death.
Mourning his passing, his godparent questioned why the young man had to leave his wife so soon after they had begun building their life together.
“Life can be so unpredictable,” the grieving godparent wrote, reflecting on how quickly circumstances can change from celebrating a young marriage to mourning the loss of a loved one.
The cause and circumstances surrounding Chimezie’s death were not disclosed in the tribute.
