In his resolve to improve the standard of living in the rural areas by providing basic infrastructural amenities to aid life and as well boost social and economic activities, the Federal Commissioner representing Imo State in the Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC Board, Hon Dr Kyrian Uchegbu has led the commission to Aborshi Autonomous Community in Oguta LGA to flag off the famous Operation Light Up Niger Delta area and as well hand the construction of modern Civic Center with modern technology.
This is contained in the ProjectHope policy of NDDC to mitigate Youth restiveness, create empowerment programs, reduce rural urban drift by adequately providing those recreational facilities available in the city that made young people to abandon the rural areas for the city, even when there’s no job in the urban area.
The Civic center is strategically located at Umuorji a major gateway into Oguta LGA South divide while the Solar Street Lights transverse across Orsu, Amakofia, Okwuoji, Ndiukwuegbu and its environ all located in Aborshi Autonomous community, Izombe clan Oguta LGA.
Hon Dr Uchegbu in his address assured the people that every community in Imo State as far as his representation is concerned must benefit from NDDC one developmental project or the other .
He continued, today we have started from Izombe and will not stop in Izombe rather the message must cut across the length and breadth of Imo State, he assured.
Finally, the Federal Commissioner admonished the community to take possession of public installations and make sure they protect them from theft and vandalism
A famous community leader who doubles as the Eze-elect of Aborshi Autonomous Community, High Chief Marcus Nnannah JP applauded Hon Dr Uchegbu, the Federal Commissioner for his sterling representation and thanked the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his sumptuous budget allocation which is the main influencer of all these projects.
The community leader called on Sir Samuel Durugo the CEO WisGold International Limited who is the contractor to ensure that quality job is carried out as that will recommend his company in future for more jobs here in the community and beyond.
