The Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), Imo State branch has recognized the enormous impact of the Evergreen Pharmaceutical Company, to the economic development of Imo State and Nigeria, with an award of Best Indigenous Manufacturing Company in Imo State.

This award was bestowed on the Company during the 2024 edition of the annual conference and pharmacy week of the society, held last Thursday, at the Rockview Hotel, Owerri, Imo State, with the theme: Pharmacy; Innovating Advanced Universal and Holistic Healthcare.

Presenting the award, the chairman, Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, Imo State, Dr. Nobert Ajaero lauded management of the company for their leading and transformational role in the pharmaceutical industry of not only Imo State, but Nigeria and Africa at large.

Responding after receiving the award, on behalf of the company, the Managing Director, Dr. Declan Unogu, while appreciating PSN, said the company sees the award purely as a challenge to do more, promising that it will spur management and staff to deliver more impactful results

He called on government to provide enabling environment, including investment in the pharmaceutical industry, to enable pharmacists in the state and country at large to perform to their optimum.

Dr. Unogu said management of the Evergreen Pharmaceutical Company took up the challenge to come back to Nigeria in 2012, with the conviction that “if all of us should run away, nobody will do it for us. So I had to come back to Nigeria”.
