The Member representing Ideato Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere, has been advised to focus on his legislative duty and stop under representing the people of Ideato Nation.
The advise was given by the Spokesperson of Conference of United Progressive People (CUPP), Ideato LGA Chapter, Nze Dr. Vitus Modesty Ezenwa, in an interview with journalists recently at late Chief Collins Obi’s Council Chambers, Dikenafai, Ideato Nation, after an enlarged meeting.
CUPP alleged that since Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere went to the National Assembly, he has not done or attracted any tangible or meaningful project in Ideato Federal Constituency as erosion and bad road are still nightmares to the area, saying he is rather busy chasing shadows, instigating trouble here and there, breeding enmity for the Constituency, tarnishing its image, as well as overlooking the pressing needs of the people who it said voted him into office.
Ezenwa who stated that Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere is allegedly spending huge money on frivolities, regretted that his One Year in Office as a legislator was a monumental waste.
The group also accused the lawmaker of ignoring and sidelining the people in terms of contract awards and employment, frowning that he chose a non-Ideato indigene as his Senior Legislative Aide, positing that in the past Ideato indigenes occupied such a big position, describing Ikenga Imo as being self-righteous.
Ezenwa observed with dismay that the legislator has never held Constituency briefing since his One Year stay at the of House of Representatives, describing such as an anomaly and a neglect.
The Spokesperson of CUPP while urging the legislator to stop shying away from the erosion menace and deplorable road in the constituency, advised him to get to work, stop wasting their resources, creating trouble for them, giving them bad image before the world who he said is watching him and making jest of his actions and inactions.
Revealing that Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere does not have Constituency Office, Ezenwa advised him to leave legislation and go back to activism, a call he said Ikenga is mastery at, which gave him leeway and relevance to politics.
“I’m the right Spokesman of CUPP in Ideato Nation Chapter since Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere has stopped speaking for the poor, the voiceless and the opposition. CUPP is made up of people who are progressively minded, with passion for the growth, development and peace of their Constituency. Members are drawn from religious, political, economic and social sectors, traditional rulers are supporting us. Everybody in Ideato Nation is supporting us because they know that what we are doing is right. Our objective is to ensure that we have transparent, accountable and fair leadership in Ideato Nation”, Ezenwa maintained.
