The Head of Service of Abia State, Mr. Benson Ojeikere, has stressed the importance of discipline among civil servants in all Ministries, Departments and Agencies in the state.

Ojeikere who stated this during a meeting with Permanent Secretaries, called for a comprehensive attitudinal shift among civil servants to align their conduct and performance with the vision of the Governor Alex Otti administration.

Ojeikere while saying that civil servants should lead by example, said they should promote a culture of accountability, efficiency, and enhance efficient service delivery in the state .

He called for strict adherence to the 24-hour turnaround time for operational efficiency as well as enhance responsiveness and productivity across the civil service.

The Head of Service made it clear that all form of career advancement, including promotions, will be predicated on exceptional skills and commitment, noting that quality of individual work plans, practical work experience and professional development programmes and competence are now the yardstick for promotions.
