The new chairman of the Imo State arm of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Hon. Austin Onyedebelu has vowed to ensure the total victory of the party in all the elective positions in the forthcoming general polls.

He insisted that working together with the governor, His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma and all stakeholders, there was no way any other party can have a foothold in the three senatorial districts.

Speaking to The Statesman Newspapers in his maiden press interview, the former zonal Publicity Secretary said he was satisfied with the giant strides the party has made in the state especially going by the excellent leadership of the governor.

Onyedebelu, who before his unanimous election as the chairman of the party in Imo at the Congress held at the Heroes Square on Tuesday was the Managing Director of ISOPADEC maintained that his gratitude to the governor for finding him worthy of the high office said “I will never do anything that will make the governor regret his actions.”

He went on that “we are going to hit the ground running so that we can consolidate what is on ground. You know that the party primaries are around the corner and so we must be up and running. I am grateful for the work done by my predecessor. He did a great job and will build on it.

“Now we have a governor that has examplified leadership by instituting programmes that not only aligns with the people but are futuristic. We have seen how he has changed the landscape with projects that speak for themselves. So we are happy because these things have endeared the party to the people.

“We must do everything to work with the governor so that he can do more for the people and the state. Everywhere you go today in Imo State, it is Governor Hope Uzodimma and APC that you will hear. We must help to amplify these the more.”

The new APC helmsman said another major focus is to disabuse the minds of the Electorates on the lies been bandied by political jobbers on the performance of the sitting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying that the policies of the sitting President, though tough, is for the overall benefits of the country.

According to him the saying that “suffer a little and enjoy forever ” is true about those policies been implemented so far, adding that some of those items whose prices skyrocketed at the introduction of the policies have started declining.

“Having had a seamless transition which was done today (yesterday) we must begin to tell the people the truth and nothing but the truth concerning our God Sent governor and our President. They have done very well.”
