Two male youths have been confirmed dead in the Osisioma axis of Aba after a Toyota Camry they were riding in veered off the road and crashed into a deep gutter.
The impact of the crash trapped the victims inside the ill-fated car in the water- logged gutter, resulting to their death before help could arrive.
Confirming the incident to our correspondent, the Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, Abia State Sector Command, Ngozi Ezeoma said that the incident was reported to FRSC office (FRSC) Yesterday’s morning.
According to her, those who reported the accident said it happened at 1:00 am, noting that FRSC brought out the bodies of two male victims who were trapped.
” Their bodies has been deposited to the mortuary. FRSC recovered the vehicle from a ditch with a crane.
“The vehicle is Toyota Camry. Preliminary investigation revealed excessive speed which made the driver to lose control,” she said.
Some residents of Osisioma wept profusely Tuesday morning when the remains of the victims were brought out of the water.
