Wife of the Governor of Anambra State, Dr Nonye Soludo, has reached out to the female National Youths Service Corps, NYSC, member, Ms Jennifer Elohor, who was seen in a video being brutalized by security operatives in the state.

Elohor in a now viral video was seen being brutalized by operatives of the Agunechemba, a state security outfit put together to fight rising crime in the state.

The operatives were said to have invaded the lodge where the corps member lived and brutalized her, also stripping her naked. The action has been roundly condemned by all segments of the society, with some people calling for the disbandment of the security outfit.

Meanwhile, the wife of the governor yesterday reached out to Ms Elohor to sympathize with her on the incident.

Mrs Soludo reportedly called and sympathized with the corps member, also inviting her to the Government House for a meeting.

“But as at the time, the lady was no longer in the state,” an aide of the governor told our correspondent

“She (Soludo’s wife) has asked her to reach out to her once she is in Anambra, and the lady was very happy with the humility of the governor’s wife and was pacified. We are expecting her here very soon,” the aide said.
