The legislative leader of Ihitte-Uboma local government Council, Rt Hon Kennedy Egeonu has described his alleged impeachment by some aggrieved councillors of the local government as false, baseless and malicious.

In a press statement issued to news men, Rt Hon Kennedy Egeonu bluntly declared that a handful of the councillors who according to him, were always complaining about the refusal of the executive chairman of the local government, Hon Obioma to share every money that comes to the local government among the councillors, even in  a situation where the local government is faced with lots of developmental projects, is the root cause of the ill-fated impeachment move.

Explaining further, the leader of the council who disclosed that he is still in charge of affairs as the council leader, stated thus, ” I want to make it clear before members of the public that those councillors of Ihitte-Uboma local government who claimed that I have been removed from office are being driven by greed, malicious intention to get at the local government boss, Hon Obioma who they alleged is  not pushing enough money into their pockets.”

“In their scheme to kick the local government chairman out of office, the greedy councillors decided that the only way to do it is to remove me, the legislative council leader and then strike at the council boss. This is why about three out of the ten councillors of Ihitte-Uboma local government forged   the signatures of some innocent members of the legislative council and started announcing that I have been impeached”, the council leader, Kennedy Egeonu concluded.
