Who is who including governors of Peoples Democratic Party has celebrated Senator AldophusWabara on his 76th birthday as well as honour him on his confirmation as the Party Board of Trustees chairman..

The grand reception was Orgarnised by PDP Abia chapter in collaboration with Peoples Democratic Institute, Abuja on Saturday at the trademore event centre Umuahia.

Speaking, governor, SeyiMakinde of Oyo state said the Southeast is important region to Nigeria, he encouraged the zone and advice that what ever they are passing through now they should not be discourage.

He commended senator Wabara for all his achievement in Nigeria including PDP.

He reiterated that the senator has restored hope in Nigeria. He regretted that Southeast used to be PDP state but today only Enugu is PDP state. He said hope is not lost yet.

Governor Makinde maintained that senator Wabara is important to the party as he has restore hope to their party. He said they have come to celebrate him on his birthday and his position as the chairman Board of Trustees.

Speaking also the governor of Enugu state, Dr Peter Mba lauded the celebrant for achieving alot in Nigeria politics adding that he held sway during the great days of their party.

He assured that they will surely reposition the party before the next general election assuring that the party will take it pride of place.

In his speech, the acting National Chairman of the party, Amb. Umar Iliya Damagun, said the gathering of PDP to celebrate Senator Wabara birthday and his new position as the Board of Trustees chairman is very significant. He said the party need him more now to draw from his loaded well of wisdom and seek solution to the nation’s political quagmire.

He said the celebration is well deserved considering his enormous contributions in the political jurisprudence of their party in particular and the nation at large.

“Your large mark achievements during your tenure as the highest ranking officer in the nation speaks volume and commitment to public service is a great inspiration to future generation”.

Speaking the governor of Abia state, Dr Alex Otti said his government is non discriminately adding that once you are residing in Abia you are seen as a citizen. He said because of this policy an Edo man attained the highest position as permanent secretary.

He revealed that senator Wabara is a good man and not tribalistic, he disclosed to the party that they did not make mistake by chosing him as their Board of Trustees chairman.

He said he was happy that he was invited by the party adding that even if he was not invited he would still have come because senator Wabara is a man he holds at high esteem.

He regretted the killing of soldiers in Aba said once he leave the venue, he will be going to visit the families of the slain soldiers.

Dr Otti maintained once again that the state was safe advising them to jettisoned the advice of those discouraging them from holding the event in Abia. He disclosed that his government would do all possible to smoke out the killers of the gallant soldiers.

Other governor present are Edo state, Bauchi state, some present and past senators, House of Representatives members and party faithfuls, including the state chairman of the party, DrAlwellAsiforo
Highlight of the occasion was the cutting of the birthday cake.
