Imo State House Of Assembly during plenary session yesterday resolved to commend the State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma for giving the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Late Chief Emmanuel Chukwuemka Iwuanyanwu a befitting burial and immortalizing his name with the Imo International Conference Center (IICC).
This was contained in a motion chiefly sponsored by the member representing Mbaitoli state constituency, Hon Innocent Ikechukwu Ikpamezi.
Presenting the motion, Hon lkpamezi recognized the effort of 3.R Administration led by Governor Uzodimma in giving late Iwuanyanwu a befitting burial on the 1st of November 2024.
Ikpamezi appreciated the fact that Governor Uzodimma worked tirelessly ,in planning and ensuring that no stone was left unturned especially in the area of security and provision of accommodation for eminent personalities who visited the state for the burial ceremony of late Iwuanyanwu .
According to the lawmaker, the burial of the President General Ohanaeze Ndigbo attracted to Imo state the respect of those who erroneously and falsely believed that Ndigbo have no sense of respect for their elders and love among themselves.
He thanks the state Governor for given nod to the request of the Imo State House Of Assembly by renaming the IICC to Late Iwuanyanwu International Conference Center.
