Members of Oru-East Legislative Council have passed vote of confidence on the Executive Chairman of the local government, Hon. (Chief) Nnamdi Okwaraigwe. This was contained in a Press Release signed by the Leader of Oru-East Legislative Council, Hon. Timothy Chizoba.

The vote of confidence was a product of resolution passed at the Council’s Chambers during a plenary session on Tuesday, July 3, 2025.

According to the members, the decision to pass vote of confidence on the Chairman was taken after critical examination of the achievements of the chairman since assumption of office in September, 2024.

Other reasons for their decision were; the Chairman’s people-oriented policy, as well as the massive infrastructure and developmental projects within the local government area. “The people of the locality, both at home and in the Diaspora, strongly attest that the Executive Chairman, Hon. Chief Nnamdi Okwaraigwe, has set new developmental record in the local government area,” the Press Release further said.

The Legislative Council listed the Chairman’s achievements to include; completion of the Secretariat’s perimeter fence, re-construction of Administrative Office Block, Legislative Chamber and Political Office Block, massive rural road grading across communities in the local government area, and the on-going construction of two Administrative complexes.

Other reasons are: Prudent management of the LG’s resources, creating conducive working environment for the staff of the Council, ensuring cordial relationship between the Executive and the Legislative arms, strengthening primary healthcare system in the locality and for being staff-friendly.

“In view of the above, the Oru-East Legislative Council resolved and passed a vote of confidence on the indefatigable, pragmatic and people-oriented Chairman, Hon. Chief Nnamdi Okwaraigwe (Enyi Oha).

“Based on the above monumental achievements, the Legislative Council unanimously christened him the ‘Infrastructural Chairman’. Unequivocally, the people of Oru-East are proud of the Executive Chairman’s achievements”, the Legislative Council concluded
