The Orlu Regional Assembly, USA Inc., a socio cultural organisation of indigens of Orlu zone resident in the United States of America has successfully held their annual convention in Addison, Dallas TX, USA from June 23 to June 29, 2026 with all their 21 active affiliates represented by accredited delegates.
The convention recorded approximately 900 attendees comprised of members, their families, friends, and guests from across the globe.
The Imo State Government
delegation ably led by HRM, Eze Cletus Ilomuanya included Barr Ralph Nwosu, Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Chief Rex Anunobi, Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Chief Cosmas Maduba, Commissioner for Agriculture and Hon Declan Emelumba, Commissioner for Public Orientation and Strategy.
Also present at the Dallas Convention were the ORAUSA Patrons, Chief Achike Udenwa (fmr Executive Governor of Imo State) and Hon Green Iheka (former PDP Chairman, Orlu Zone)
In a Communique released to the press and signed by the ORAUSA National President, Prince Charles Duru, and other executive officers, the Convention House of Delegates deliberated on major issues and projects including security.
The convention unanimously resolved to continue, and expand the scope of the annual Medical Mission and the Homeland Summit in Orlu every December to foster the exchange of ideas/solutions between the home based and the diaspora stakeholders.
On Women’s and Youth’s Programs, the convention agreed to continue with the disbursement of the #500,000 interest free loan to indigent rural women in each of the 12 LGA’s in Orlu zone while the youth affairs committee now firmly under the leadership of the youths would continue to receive financial and moral support from ORAUSA.
The ORA-PAC Committee also resolved to continue to educate the populace on good governance, their rights to participate in electing the right candidates and to seek ways to make Imo State and Orlu zone safer and more progressive.
Highlights of the Dallas TX Convention included the Town Hall Meeting with the Imo Government delegation during which a question and answer session on the programs and achievements of the Governor Hope Uzodimma’s administration were enumerated by the Imo Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Chief Ralph Nwosu.
The Imo Government delegation delivered warm greetings from Governor Hope Uzodinma and a donation $10,000 from the Imo State Government.
Other highlights included the Advisory Board of Directors elections which ushered in the following:
Atty Mark-Charles Ogunjobi – ABOD Chairman, Mrs Ijeoma Odueze – ABOD Secretary and Mazi Chukwunonso Azode – ABOD Parliamentarian and the unveiling of the ORAUSA new official flag and national anthem.
The ORA Newsflash magazine editorial crew conducted red carpet interviews of key attendees as well as sold it’s 4 page publication to help with fund raising.
The ORAUSA CONVENTION hosting flag officially passed from OOPA Dallas to OZA- New Jersey affiliate under the leadership of Atty Lolo Chinyere Amuzie who gladly accepted to host their 2027 annual convention.
