A member of Indigenous People of Biafra, (IPOB), legal team, Maxwell Opara, yesterday said Biafra agitator, Nnamdi Kanu is suffering because he’s from the Southeast.

Opara said Kanu would have been free if he was from the Southwest or Northern part of Nigeria.

He disclosed this while addressing journalists at the Abuja Federal High Court.

Opara said: “They don’t have a case against Nnamdi Kanu. Of course, you know that had it been that Nnamdi Kanu from the north or from the southwest, he would not be here today.

“They are doing it because he’s from the east, Nnamdi Kanu is suffering this because he is from the south.”

He also criticised Igbo lawmakers in the National Assembly who have refused to rise up in Kanu’s defence.

“Those of you that are in the House of Assembly, Senate, Benchwarmers, watch what is going on, at the appropriate time, we will tell you that, yes, the masses are watching,” he added.
