The Commissioner for Transport, Hon Emeka Okoronkwo, has expressed admiration for the Imo Digital City project, describing it as a ground breaking initiative that has the potential to employ over 300 youths, both skilled and unskilled, in the state.

This, he noted, would significantly reduce youth restiveness in the state.

The Transport Commissioner made this remark during a facility tour  to Imo Digital City.

The tour which was led by the Commissioner for Digital Economy, DrChimezieAmadi, showcased the innovative infrastructure and transformative potential of what has been described as Nigeria’s first digital city of its kind..

Speaking during the tour, the Imo transport commissioner Hon EmekaOkoronkwo commended His Excellency, Dist Senator Hope Uzodimma the Executive Governor of Imo State for his vision and unwavering commitment to transforming Imo state into a beacon of progress .

He expressed that what the governor has done at Imo Digital City is a testament of what is possible when vision meets action.

The commissioner described the facility as a monumental achievement, stating that it represents a bold step toward positioning Imo State as a hub for technological innovation in Nigeria and beyond. “This is a game-changer for Imo State the level of work done here is nothing short of extraordinary this project is not just about buildings and technology; it’s about empowering our people, creating opportunities, and building a sustainable future for Imo State.”

Hon Okoronkwo noted that by providing employment opportunities and fostering skill acquisition, the initiative is poised to reduce youth restiveness and contribute to overall development of the state.

He stated that when young people are gainfully employed and equipped with the right skills, they become agents of positive change.

Okonkwo described the project as a strategic intervention that aligns with the government’s broader agenda of promoting peace and prosperity.

The Commissioner for Transport also emphasized the ripple effect of the Imo Digital City on other sectors, particularly the Ministry of Transport and noted that the project’s which emphasis on technology and innovation has set the pace in preparing the ministry for the challenges of modernizing transportation systems in the state

Hon. Okoronkwo called on other stakeholders in Imo State, including private sector  community leaders organizations, and traditional institutions, to visit the Imo Digital City and witness the firsthand  transformative work being done. So as to appreciate what this administration has accomplished

In his remark, the commissioners for Digital Economy DrChimezieAmadi reiterated the state government’s commitment to ensuring the success of the Imo Digital City.

He assured that the project is on track for completion and will soon begin delivering tangible benefits to the people of Imo State.
