The Honourable Member representing Onuimo State Constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly, Chief (Dr.) Uba James Esile, recently convened a strategic parley with his political campaign team—popularly known as the “Fresh Air Movement”,now appointed as ward coordinators and liaison officers across the wards of Onuimo Local Government Area.

During the interactive session, Hon. Esile expressed gratitude for the continued support and sacrifices made by the ward coordinators, especially during grassroots mobilization for empowerment initiatives. He acknowledged the delay in holding the meeting, citing his tight schedule, and appealed for their understanding.

One of the key highlights of the meeting was the announcement of the first phase of the Truck Drivers Empowerment Programme, slated to commence on May 27, 2025. The initiative aims to provide professional certification in truck driving, with participation from officials of the training institution, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), media representatives, and other dignitaries.

Hon. Esile emphasized the international relevance of the certification and its potential to create economic opportunities for beneficiaries and boost the local economy of Onuimo. He tasked the coordinators with mobilizing eligible individuals from their wards to participate in the programme.

The lawmaker also used the occasion to unveil the inclusion of ward coordinators among the beneficiaries of the ImoCare Health Insurance Programme, being implemented by the Imo State Health Insurance Agency (IMSHIA) under the Ministry of Health, Social Services, and Insurance.
