The Craneburg construction company handling the reconstruction of Owerri-Orlu, Owerri-Okigwe and Owerri-Umuahia highways,  is set to construct an overhead bridge around Control Post in  Owerri Municipal.

The flyover  will serve vehicles and pedestrians coming from Onitsha,  Port Harcourt and World Bank areas of the town.

While on a courtesy visit to the traditional ruler of Amawom autonomous community, HRH Eze Ezechikere Peter Njemanze, MSI, Ozuruigbo VI of Owerri, the Head of Operations, Mr Serbastine informed the Royal Father and his Council of their plans to engage the youths from the host communities, as  unskilled workforce for the company.

The expatriate,  while briefing the royal father of his visit,  used the occasion to urge him to recommend youths for employment in certain categories, which he outlined under their unskilled platform.

He stressed that his company would  work with the youths,  towards achieving the aspiration of Sen. Hope Uzodimma on youth empowerment and his administration’s “Urban Renewal Project.”

Among leaders at the occasion was a former IMC Chairman of Owerri Municipal Council, who also served as SA, Door-to-Door Campaign  for the governor during the last gubernatorial election in Imo State, Hon. (Chief) Sir  Ambrose I. Nkwodimmah.

While contributing his opinion during the occasion, he expressed delight at the visit of the team and the location of the project, which he opined, is happening for the first time  and only during the administration of Governor Hope Uzodimma.

Chief Nkwodimmah, while reacting to the development,  applauded the governor for attracting a lot of projects to his community, and commended  him for carrying his people along. He added  that the bridge construction would also enhance the aesthetics  of the city, boost the tourism potentials  of the state, and increased Internally Generated Revenue(IGR) for the government.

In his remark, the Ozuruigbo VI of Owerri, HRH Eze Ezechikere Peter Njemanze, commended Governor Uzodimma  for the bridge. According to the Royal Father,  his people are  excited and look  forward  to its completion.

“I want to tell you that your CLO here is our brother and we are grateful for that, I want to use this opportunity to thank the governor for all he has been doing. He has never left us, he has been carrying us  along, and we are happy with him. We are happy that  he brought such project that will brighten the state, that will enable the whole state move forward.”

“We thank him for the things he has done, we wish him good luck throughout his stay for the next four years. We wish him all the best of luck and I want to tell you we love him and he loves us. That place has some problems but that problem, he has vetoed it. He vetoed it to give some back to you. We are grateful, we have recieved this in good faith. All you are doing there will go well with you and will go well with the company and also go well with us.

“We wish you a happy welcome and a happy stay with us in the one,  two,  three years. You will be with us, we will be with you and we shall be very very happy for you  to be relating with us,  and we shall be relating with you from  time to time, ” he concluded.
