The member representing Ohafia/ Arochukwu federal Constituency, Hon. Osonwa Okwara Ibe, has cried out over six years of darkness in Ohafia in Abia state.

The law maker disclosed this to a section of journalists while speaking on the two years anniversary of Dr Alex Otti.

Hon Ibe said it is extremely sad and painful that a city as large as Ohafia has been in darkness for six year, as he recalled the effort he has put in place to ensure light illuminate in the once bubbling city know for it culture and hard work

He said he has on several occasion raised the matter at the floor of the federal House, he said the committee in charge of electricity came and saw things for themselves with assurance that the electricity issue will be looked into.

The law maker noted that vandalism and very high electricity bill running over two billion naira from Enugu Electricity Distribution Company, EEDC, has been the major set back.

Osonwa said the outrageous bill was handed over to the people of his constituents, despite the fact that there has been no power supply to Ohafia for up to six years.

He urged the people to always protect government facilities in their area, noting that the vandalism they are talking about were done by hoodlums, who vandalized and stole vital component. He assured that he wil not relent until electricity is reinstated  in Ohafia.

Speaking on governor Alex Otti performance in two years, the House member said, the man Otti is a mite, adding that all he promised to do for the people he has started fulfilling them and alot already done within his two years in office.

“Otti is talk and do governor,  we should continue to support him, he is a  practical person, full of ideas and love for his people”.

He revealed that the governor is not infallible or immune to taking advice, adding that he has listening ears and once he sees sense in what you are doing or saying he keys into it.

He said “In December last year, I went for an occasion with the governor , I reminded him of the Omenuko bridge, but I thank God today, the governor is reconstructing the bridge”.

He hinted that the massive road construction scattered across the state, rebuilding, remodeling and retrofitting of both hospitals and schools across the state, the very clean environment of Umuahia and Aba among others are all everyone can see. He assured that the rate at which the governor is going before he ends his four years, people will no longer recognize Abia state.
