…Commends him for ‘aggressive road constructions’

Industrialists, hoteliers and other residents of Industrial Road Neighbourhood, Irete have cried out to the caring Governor of Imo State, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, to come to their aid following the total breakdown of the strategic and economically viable link road, which serves as access and exit road for over 300,000 residents and  businesses through 1st bus stop, Okwele Layout Irete to industrial Road down to Site and Services, World Bank Housing Estate to Port Harcourt Road.

In a Save Our Soul, SOS Message made available to the press, through the Chairman of the neighborhood, Engr Chuks Okoli, the people of the neighborhood comprising industrialists, hoteliers, other small scale business operators, and individual residents disclosed how they as a group have on their own tried to do remedial work on the road for quite sometime now to save it from total collapse adding that the bad state of the Industrial Road, which is beyond their capacity to fix is adversely affecting their businesses and lives especially during the rainy season.

“We are really suffering, we are in daily pains because of the very bad situation of the road. We have tried to do remedial work on the road to prevent it from collapsing totally but the deterioration continued.

The situation of the road is so terrible now that even children swim in muddy water to school because the road is not motorable and virtually impassable. We need the help of government and we are confident that the listening and caring Governor of Imo State, His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma will consider our plight ” the SOS  message read in part.

The people of the area including industrialists, hoteliers, small scale businesses and private residents stressed the importance and strategic usefulness of the road while praying that the Governor of Imo State, His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma also known as the “Road master” because of his aggressive road construction and reconstruction policy will come to their rescue following this appeal.
