Determined to conduct free, fair and credible local government chairmanship and councillorship elections in Imo State, slated for Saturday, September 21, 2024, the chairman, Imo State Electoral Commission (ISIEC), Charles Ejiogu, has taken his message to the doorstep of journalists, reassuring Imolites that his word is his bond, barring all unforeseeable circumstances.

Addressing the media practitioners last Wednesday at their council House in Owerri, the state capital, Ejiogu thanked them for spreading the message so far.

He reiterated his commitment to conduct credible elections across the twenty-seven local governments, 305 electoral wards and 4,758 polling units in the state.

He expressed delight that all the eighteen registered political parties in the country had indicated their interests to field candidates in the grassroots elections.

He reaffirmed that it was grassroots democracy that would deepen democracy in the country and called on all Imolites to participate effectively.
