Umueze Ogwa Patriotic Union, (UPU), (men’s wing), Owerri branch mourns their beloved member, Mr. Simon Emereole of Duruahazie village in Umueze Abazu Ogwa autonomous community in Mbaitoli LGA of Imo State.

Emereole until his death last December was the Secretary General of the union and have dedicatedly served the union in various capacities for over 18 years.

According to the family, the deceased who died in his early 60s is married with children and would be buried this Thursday 5th of March, 2026 at his Ezi Oboro Umueze Ogwa ancestral compound.

Meanwhile, a condolence message from the Union to the deceased family as signed by Prince Paul Ejiogu, Messrs Francis Okoroafor and Obinna Ndubuisi, the Chairman, Assistant Secretary and Public Relations Officer, respectively of the great community union, read,

“We the members of Umueze Patriotic Union, UPU, Owerri branch(Men’s wing) sincerely mourn the death of MR SIMON NNAWUIHE EMEREOLE, who until death, was our able Secretary General and sincerely served the Union in various capacities”.

They described Emereole, as a man of the people,  a role model, a dependable and reliable community leader, who in all honesty, touched lives positively, with milestone of humanitarian achievements.

“He was a light unto his people, always cheerful, hardworking and dedicated in all his endeavour, a renowned entrepreneur and an ambassador of peace”.

The union also lamented that, “they have lost a rare gem, a man of implicit humility, respect, confidence and trust. A bread winner, a sociable soul, a lovely father, and a good husband.

“Truely, his death is painful, but we cannot question Almighty God. He created and He taketh at His appointed time”.

They further, said that their solace is that their beloved member lived a good life and served His God in truth and spirit. “He earned peoples respect and always at home with humanity”.

The Union passionately advised the family members, friends, well-wishers and associates of the deceased to take heart, noting that they are not alone in missing him, as a good man and a reliable companion.

They also prayed for his soul to rest in perfect peace and for God to equally give them the grace to bear the irreparable lost.
