Imo State Commissioner for Information, Public Orientation and Strategy, Hon Declan Emelumba, has described the recent Silverbird TV award of Governor of the Year to Senator Hope Uzodimma, as a reflection of his transformative leadership in the state.

He said the Silverbird Group was on point in the award because, it speaks of the realities of the superlative performance of Governor Hope Uzodimma since he assumed office in 2020.

Emelumba, who represented his boss at the formal presentation of the award in Lagos at the weekend, noted that only a leader imbued with wisdom and ideas could have overcome the challenges Uzodimma faced to post that kind of performance in all sectors.

According to him ,” we started with very turbulent insecurity, but due to the hard work of the governor,  Imo is one of the safest states in the Southeast, if not the whole of Nigeria

The Commissioner declared that the award was a true reflection of the realities on ground in Imo State, saying that “In the last six years,  the Prosperity Agenda of His Excellency has been on course and today the fruits are evident ”

He disclosed that Uzodimma has made Imo State the first  in Nigeria to secure energy sovereignty through the commissioning of the Orashi Power Plant, thus positioning the economy of the state for an unprecedented boom.

He also listed the road revolution in the state whereby the governor has built more than 120 solid roads  with the attendant urban renewal programme.

Emelumba also announced that Uzodimma has trained more than 50,000 youths in digital skills while thousands of others have been trained and empowered to be self-employed.

He said that the governor was deeply appreciative of the award by Silverbird TV because it speaks eloquently of the services he has been rendering to the state.

In presenting the award to the governor,  Silverbird Group representatives commended Governor Hope Uzodimma for overcoming the turbulent insecurity to record massive achievements in the state.
