The lawmaker representing Ikeduru state constituency and chairman, Imo State House of Assembly standing committee on Commerce and Industry, Hon Johnleoba Iheoha has vehemently, predicted that Imo, the heartland state of Southeast geo-political zone of Nigeria would experience amazing influx of tourists and investors from outside and within the country on completion of the ongoing construction works at the Nekede-based Imo International
Market and the Assumpta Round-about Flyover within Owerri capital territory.
Hon Johnleoba Iheoha speaking to news men in his capacity as chairman of house of assembly standing committee on Commerce and Industry, described the international market project located along Owerri Port-Harcourt road in the Nekede area of Owerri West local government area as a venture that would catapult Imo state to global limelight .
He further, described the market as an expansive project with the capacity to accommodate thousands of traders and allied workers in various trades.
Johnleoba Iheoha who also visited the site of the ongoing construction of the Assumpta Round-about Flyover, near Holy Ghost College, Owerri, expressed the view that on completion, the flyover would enhance free flow of vehicular traffic within Port-Harcourt and Onitsha roads axis of the state capital.
On the ongoing Imo state-owned electricity power generation project in Ohaji/Egbema local government area, the member for Ikeduru state constituency observed that the project which according to him, would make the state self-reliant on power supply, is a prelude to industrial revolution in the state.
” It is my wish and prayer that God in his infinite mercies, would throw open the doors of financial resources to enable His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma to fully realise all the ongoing landmark projects initiated by his administration. The speed with which these projects are being executed is a pointer to the fact that our dear state is already, on the path to full recovery and transmission”, Hon Johnleoba stated.
On the just concluded 3-day Capacity Building Programme for principal officers and members of Imo State House of Assembly at the National Institute of Legislative and Democratic Studies, Abuja, the member for Ikeduru state constituency who was full of praises and gratitude to Governor Hope Uzodimma for sponsoring the workshop said, “the capacity building Programme has added great value to every member of the 10th house of the state assembly. For me, I now, have greater knowledge, broader horizon, immeasurable zeal and courage to function as a lawmaker. I now know better my rights and privileges as well as the rights of the people who mandated me to represent them in the legislative house. I give the credit to Governor Uzodimma, a man with immense vision and mission to salvage Imo state”.
