A woman who was set ablaze by her husband on Tuesday, after a family disagreement has died yesterday morning.
A short video on social media showed the woman wriggling on the ground with burns and cursing her husband for his actions.
Sources said the man had accused his wife of being wayward and flirting with other men, an allegation that sparked off an argument between them.
It was gathered that as the argument raged, the man quickly poured fuel on her, setting her ablaze.
Meanwhile, police authorities in Anambra State have confirmed that the woman who was rushed to the hospital same day had died on Wednesday morning.
Spokesperson of Anambra State Police command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga told newsmen that her husband had also been arrested, and that investigation into the matter has commenced.
Ikenga said, “We are aware of the matter, but it is sad to announce to you that the woman just died this morning while receiving medical attention.
“Her husband has also been arrested and an investigation has commenced”, he said.
The commissioner has reached out to the families and assured that justice will prevail.
