The Deputy Speaker Federal House of Representatives, Rt Hon Benjamin OkezieKalu, the wife of the former Governor Lagos State, Mrs. Botanle Ambode, the speaker of Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Gabriel Gewan, the former Chief of Staff to Imo state Government, Hon. Uche Nwosu were among those that was honoured with a prestigious award during a Grand Finale of an event organized by Women Of Divine Destiny Initiative (WODDI) a Non -governmental organisation founded by the former first lady of Imo State, Dr. Mrs Nkechi Okorocha.
The Summit tagged ,”The Power of An Inspired Women” held at Rochas Foundation College of Africa, Owerri.
Speaking during the event, Deputy Speaker, Rt Hon Benjamin Kalu expressed joy to be part of the closing ceremony of 2nd WODDI inspiring women summit.
Hon kalu noted that the WODDI summit 2024 has not only been a platform for sharing knowledge and experience, but a catalyst for self- discovery, confidence building and embracing the holistic well-being of women.
He pointed out that the House of Representatives was considering a bill to Improve the represention of women in legislative institutions which is chiefly sponsored by him.
He promised to host the 2025 WODDI summit in Abia State, to enable the women in Abia State participate fully in the programme.
Also Speaking the Plateau State Speaker, Rt Hon. Gewan Commended the founder of WODDI, Mrs. Nkechi Okorocha for organizing such a wonderful event.
Hon Gewan said that the Award will encourage him to contribute more towards the welfare of women in the society.
In her speech the Founder of WODDI ,Mrs. Nkechi Okorocha thank God for the success of the 2024 WODDI event and thanked the personalities who attended the event.
Mrs Okorocha said that she is passionate about women, adding that the 5 days event will go a long way in inspiring women in every area.
Adding his Voice, the former Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha pointed out that women deserve more respect, recognition and empowerment in the society.
