…Say, Gov deserves recognition for giant development strides

The Executive Chairman of Owerri North Local Government Area, Hon Lucky Abaraonye, on Thursday September 11 2025, actualized the resolution of Umuakaliukwu and Emekuku Autonomous Communities to honour and immortalize the Governor of Imo State, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma by naming the road that connects the popular, centrally located Nkwo Emeke Market with Umuakuru and Okwu Emeke villages with Uzoagba, Avuvu and other communities in Ikeduru Local Government Area, Senator Dr Hope Uzodinma Way.
Hon Abaraonye, who unveiled the sign post, in line with his statutory power and authority as the Executive Chairman of Owerri North Local Government Area said, ” this major Road will, from today be known and addressed as Senator Dr Hope Uzodimma Way, in recognition of our amiable Governor’s passionate commitment to the improved welfare of the people of Owerri North and Imo State at large, who have never had it so good.
We have gathered here today, to honour a man whose people – oriented 3R administration has changed the narrative of governance in our state. His achievements and legacy will remain reference points for a very long time. We pray that the Almighty God continues to guide, protect and bless him more abundantly. May He also enlarge his coast and enable him to attain greater heights in his endeavours”
The Traditional Ruler of Umuakaliukwu Emekuku, His Royal Highness, Eze Eugene Ihenacho,
said, ” it is with great honour that I welcome you all to this historic occasion in our community. Today, we gather to unveil and dedicate the sign post of Senator Dr. Hope Uzodimma Way -a road named after His Excellency, our Governor, a leader whose vision and commitment to the development of Imo State continue to inspire us. This project was initiated and sponsored by OkeNze Herbert and AmbDrKemaChikwe, on behalf of myself and our entire community. Though, they are not here with us physically, they are with us in spirit.”
“In the annals of history, leaders are remembered not merely by their titles but by their impact on the lives of the people. His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has demonstrated uncommon courage, resilience and devotion to the service of Imo State. From infrastructure to human capital development, from peace-building to fostering unity. He has continued to etch his name in gold.
This road now bearing his name , is a symbol – a sign of gratitude, recognition and enduring partnership between the government and the people at the grassroots.
Roads are pathways to progress and this one signifies connectivity, accessibility and growth. By naming it after him, our community acknowledges his contribution and immortalises his leadership.”
Also speaking at the unveiling of the Senator Dr Hope Uzodimma Way, the Special Adviser to the Governor of Imo State on Alternative Conflict Resolution, Chief Ahamdi Chikwe, said, “the gathering was not just to name a road but to etch into the fabric of our community a testament to transformative leadership and enduring legacy.
We are here to dedicate this key artery of our community as the Senator Dr Hope Uzodimma Way. It is a befitting tribute to a leader whose vision has paved the way for progress, not just in Emekuku, but the entire length and breadth of Imo state.”
Chief Ahamdi, further stated that “the achievements of the Governor Hope Uzodinma – led 3R administration are a symphony of revolution in virtually all sectors of the economy, culminating in infrastructural development, the restoration of security and the economic empowerment of Imo people. The Governor has indeed given Imo people a new lease of life and renewed sense of pride”
Other dignitaries present at event were, EzeEjeshi Obi, EzeNwamara, the President General of Umuakaliukwu autonomous community, Hon Cyril Nwaforo, Umuakaliukwu Cabinet Leaders and members, among other esteemed guests.
