The management of Owerri Club, Aladinma Owerri has debunked the rumors of high handedness, and other alleged corrupt practices against the management team and Chairman of the Club, Chief .Charles Okeke (Odiuko Orsu).

In a chat with Chief Okeke, he described the report which emanated from some news papers in Imo State as an unfounded, unverified and an untrue reportage. He maintained that under his watch the club has been revolutionized. Chief Okeke expressed dismay that the vision of Owerri Club as a premier Club has been misdirected by certain persons who he said has refused to allow the club to grow, lamenting that some old members have refused to incorporate the younger members into the club.

In his words ” what they are fighting is paradigm shift, the old people still want to use our club as old people’s home, I brought in younger people  to bring a new face to the club, the members have voted me , and I want to bring the club to limelight, ” he expressed.

He said the propagator of the news do not mean well for the club considering the timing which coincided with the upcoming induction, Investiture and inauguration ceremony.

Chief Okeke reiterated that he is the head of the management committee, and every decision is signed by the committee members before it is carried out .

Speaking on the suspension of some members of the club, Chief Okeke said ” the suspended members went against the club rules, he said ” when you take a club to the police according to the law you are no more a member, until the club decide to readmit you “, Chief Okeke said it is the decision of the management to give the club a new face as obtained in the digital age, this he said did not also go down well with members which he described as old school.

Chief Okeke recalled that since assumption of office there has been tremendous changes in the arena.

Meanwhile, the management, trustee, patrons and members of the club will hold her inauguration cum investiture ceremony today at Owerri Club Aladinma the event will showcase the induction of some Distinguished members, as His Excellency Sen.Hope Uzodimma will be among the personalities to be inaugurated the event is also expected to be graced by other high profile dignitaries from within and outside Imo state.
