The President General of Mbano Autonomous Community, Agwa, in Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State, Chief Chima Onuegbonwa has challenged Igbo people not to allow their tradition and culture go into extinction.

Chief Onuegbonwa gave this charge in his address during the combined celebration of his birthday and official New Yam Festival held last Tuesday, at the Complementary Suit, behind Rento Hotel, Owerri

Fielding questions from newsmen after the festival Onuegbonwa said, “Today is my birthday and because I am a High Chief, (Akashirike 1) of Mbano Autonomous Community, I decided to use the opportunity to celebrate my Yam Festival.

“I want to use this opportunity to advise our people not to forget their tradition in anything they are doing, because tradition is essential to human existence.

On some of his achievements as the President General of his community, Chief Onuegbonwa disclosed that he has prioritized security of lives and properties, making his community the most peaceful and secured in the entire Agwa clan.
