The Nkwachikwere Movement has announced the appointment of Hon. Okey Azuonwu as its new Director General on Political Affairs. The appointment was formally approved by the Movement’s Founder and Chief Convener, Dr. Chijioke Kaduru, according to a press release issued by the Organisation’s Directorate in early June 2025.
Hon. Azuonwu brings a wealth of experience to the role, having served as the pioneer Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ngor Okpala Local Government Area. He is also a former Editor at The Moment Newspapers and previously served as Special Assistant (Media) to a Commissioner for Information and Strategy.
In his new role, Hon. Azuonwu is expected to oversee the day-to-day coordination of the Movement’s socio-political engagements, strategy development, and grassroots mobilization efforts.
His appointment comes shortly after his well-publicized return to the political fold in Ngor Okpala, marking what many observers see as a renewed momentum for the Movement’s political agenda in Imo State and beyond. The statement confirmed that Hon. Azuonwu has since assumed his new responsibilities.
