His Imperial Majesty, Eze Dr Thomas Obiefule(MFR, FCEI), Orlu Zonal Chairman of Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers has described as false, a publication circulating in social media that some leaders of Orlu zone threatened to burn down his palace.
Condemning the publication, which originated from Owerri-based Trinity OPOCA group and endorsed by Barr Willie Amadi and one Sir Amby Uneze, Eze Obiefule, who is the Head, Umudioka Ancient Kingdom Royal Dynasty and President National Association of Royal Traditional Rulers of Nigeria said, there was never any time he spoke to the Trinity OPOCA group about threats from any person or quarters as according to him, there was never any threat from anybody.
“I am surprised that Willie Amadi and his group decided to play politics with my name and hard-earned image, by falsely alleging that two highly respected and patriotic traditional rulers of Orlu zone, His Royal Majesty, Eze Dr Emma Okeke and His Royal Majesty, Eze Dr Cletus Ilomuanya, as well as two political leaders, namely, Barr Rex Anunobi and Barr Austin Otuokere personally, threatened to burn down my house. This allegation by the Willie Amadi-led group is not only baseless, it is funny and provocative. If the group’s intention was to create disaffection and disunity among leaders of Orlu zone, it has failed and will continue to fail”, Eze Obiefule stated.
“I know the four patriotic leaders of Orlu zone accused in that social media publication of issuing threats to me very well. They are not only my good friends, they are also my brothers and we have over the years, been in the best of terms. I also know that they have nothing against me. This is why the social media publication is very embarrassing”, the Okairuro of Umudioka Ancient Kingdom stated.
” I would have ignored the provocative social media network publication as one of those funny stories but, the two Grade A traditional rulers mentioned in the allegation are my brothers and very close to me. They are also great patriots, pride to Imo state and nationally recognized personalities whose names should not be dragged to the mud by any body at will”, the royal father added.
On the issue of Imo Charter of Equity, Eze Obiefule clearly stated, ” as one of the oldest traditional rulers in Imo state, I advise all sons and daughters of Owerri and Okigwe zones who still have litigations against Governor Hope Uzodimma in the courts to withdraw such cases now from the courts, as a demonstration of their support for the charter of equity. Anything contrary to this may result in free-for-all governorship election contest for the three zones, come 2027″, he concluded.
