By Jude Onyenedogha…

The convener of Ala-Igbo prayer project and a South Sudan based cleric, Archbishop (Professor) Silas Anoruo has made bold to state that, like the land of Israel, Igbos will prevail in the face of numerous adversaries from their enemies, calling for love, unity and the virtue of brother’s keeping among the people.

Archbishop Anoruo made this assertion while speaking during a programme tagged Ala-Igbo prayer project held Saturday in Owerri, with the theme: “Invoking the Greatness of God in Igbo Land.

The convener said Igbos, by nature are great people, with special grace and talent from God, to do great things.

Fielding questions from newsmen, after the programme, on the reason for choosing the theme: Invoking the Greatness of God in Igbo Land, Bishop Anorue said; “The theme is to rekindle the same greatness we have and to empower us the more and to heal our land, so that Igbos will standout wherever they find themselves, the way they normally do.

“Because we are special people, a tribe of Israel, we have God’s power over us. So the essence of this prayer project is to invoke that power and pray for it to be increased. For God to intervene and stop so many things that are happening, which we never thought could happen, and restore peace in Alaigbo”.

On the bye in of political and other leaders in Igbo land, Archbishop Anoruo had this to say: “We are praying towards that, it’s only God who will make it possible, but I know there is a time it will reach, everybody will be part of it. We have well arranged structure, with Coordinators in all the states of Igboland.

Bishop Anorue further disclosed a plan to start a prayer programme online, for Ndigbo, requesting every Igbo man, both home and in the diaspora to endeavor to link up when the online prayers start, revealing also, a plan for settlement of disputes in communities.

Adding his voice, Archbishop Professor Chiemela Nwosu said he participated in the programme, because as a patriotic Igbo man, he is expected to participate in any good project for the betterment of Igboland.

He said there is serious need to invoke the power of God in Igboland, because Igbos are suffering deprivation, even when they contribute enormously for the betterment of the society, reason he enthused that Igbo people need deliverance by force, hence the invocation of God’s power over Igboland.
