A man, identified as Reginald, from Lawa in Ogbaku, Mbaitoli local government area of Imo state on Sunday, allegedly committed suicide over alleged infidelity acts of his wife.
Residents of Lawa community were said to have woken up on the fateful Sunday only to behold the dangling body of Reginald on near the premises of his wife’s alleged lover, Mr. Ukachukwu.
Village sources who volunteered information to our reporter narrated how Reginald’s body was discovered on a tree within Ukachukwu’s compound on Sunday, a development that has sparked condemnation and anger from residents of the area.
A villager, who pleaded anonymity also disclosed how the deceased severally complained about the amorous relationship between his wife and Ukachukwu, but his concerns allegedly rebuffed by his wife.
Listen to him: “We woke up this morning to see the dangling body of Reginald in the compound of Ukachukwu. We had seen him before complain about his wife and Ukachukwu, but nobody knew it would drive him to commit suicide. He has put the entire community in confusion, because we have not witnessed anything like this in the past.”
Efforts to get the reaction of the Police Public Relations Officer(PPRO) of Imo State Police Command, Henry Okoye, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) proved abortive, as he was yet to respond to the message sent to him by the reporter at the time of filing this report.
