Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force yesterday fired teargas canisters at Nigerian youth protesting against the high cost of living in the country.
The reports said that the protesters had assembled near the popular Berger roundabout at about 7 am marching towards the Eagles Square.
However, in an effort to disperse the protesters, the operatives of the NPF resorted to the use of force.
The protesters are calling on the President Bola Tinubu-led administration to immediately address the hunger and other economic crises in the nation.
Meanwhile, Tinubu had in his nationwide broadcast to mark the Independence Day anniversary, assured Nigerians that his administration was implementing many measures to reduce the cost of living.
