Imo State House of Assembly during Plenary session yesterday passed a motion urging the State Governor Senator Hope Uzodimma to direct the ministry of works to urgently Commence reconstruction of Umuna-Umuduru Egbeaguru Onuimo Local Government And Ndi -Uwa Ideato North Road.
The motion was moved by the member representing Onuimo State Constituency, Hon James Uba Esile, seconded by the member representing Ehime Mbano state Constituency, Hon Bernard Ozoemelam.
Presenting the motion, Hon Uba Esile noted that Onuimo Local Government is connected to Ideato North Local Government through a major link road that started from Okohia Autonomous Community in Umuna Onuimo.
The Lawmaker said that Umuna-Umuduru Egbeaguru road is the only road that connects people from various communities in Onuimo to one another and of which 75 percent of Onuimo people access their homes , communities business ,markets and farmland through the road.
He regretted that the horrible state of the road had aided act of criminality , banditry and wanton killings between Ideato North and Onuimo as hoodlums take advantage of the impassable state of the road to carry out heinous actions.
He pointed out that the road if rehabilitated will give a great relief to the long suffering of people of Onuimo and Ideato North.
It would be recalled that for the past one month the House has been on vacation.
