Ahead of the forthcoming Imo Local Government elections, the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state, has announced the commencement of sales of expression of Interest forms for those contesting for election as Local Governments’ Chairmen and Councilors.
This was made known yesterday, July, 12, 2024, by leadership of the party during their meeting with all the the aspirants that are vieing under the APC, which took place at the party’s State secretariat, along Okigwe road, Owerri.
Number of aspirants for the seats have continued to increase ever since the Imo State Independent Electoral Commission, ISIEC pronounced September, 21, 2024 as date for the conduct of the Council polls.
The Imo State All Progressives Congress, APC Chairman, Mr. McDonald Ebere, while addressing them, explained that the exercise is going to be a free and fair election.
“I want to let you know that the forthcoming polls are going to be conducted transparently”.
The meeting attracted so many stalwarts of the party who had declared interests to contest for the Councillor and Chairmanship seats now that the Supreme Court has cleared the coast for the Local Governments to be in charge of the funds.
