Imo State Deputy Governor, Lady (Dr) Chinyere Ekomaru has encouraged the management of Nigeria Social Investment Trust Fund to avail their services to the masses of Imo State, especially workers.

The deputy governor gave this advise in his address to managers of the above named insurance company who paid her courtesy visit in her office, yesterday.

She urged them to explore the option of partnering with the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Health Insurance, Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare and other relevant government agencies, to market their services to Imo people.

Lady Ekomaru also urged them to embark on sensitization campaigns, through jingles and advocacy workshops, to bring their services to the doorstep of Imolites.

Earlier in his address, leader of the delegation and branch manager of the company, Enyinnaya Wogu said the Nigeria Social Investment Trust Fund is a scheme which aligns well with the policies of the present government.

He said, in terms of accident in the work place or illness, the scheme take 100 percent care of medical expenses, adding that a registered employee who dies in active service, the scheme continues to pay 90 percent of the salary, until the last child is out of the University or is 21 years of age.

He disclosed the desire of the management of the scheme to encourage employers of labour to key their employees into the scheme.

Wogu enthused that the scheme is billed to add more impetus to what is already being done by Governor Hope Uzodimma in the area of insurance in Imo State.
