An aspirant to the Chairmanship seat of Ehime Mbano Local Government Area, come September 21 Local Government election in the state, Austin Iwu has declared himself as the best and most suitable for the Executive Chairmanship position of the council.

Iwu made this assertion while fielding questions from newsmen, after submitting his Expression of Interest and Nomination forms of the All Progressives Congress (APC), at the party secretariat, Okigwe Road Owerri, Friday.

He hinged his assertion, not only on his experience, having served as Special Adviser (SA) to the Governor on Primary Health, but for having been following the governor, getting well acquainted with his ideology and ideology of the present government.

Iwu reeled out his five points agenda Viz; security of lives and properties, food security, Women and Youths empowerment, equitable distribution of resources/amenities and general grassroot development; encompassing; Electricity, Pipe borne water, rural roads construction and maintenance, small scale industries, primary /secondary health care improvement, among others.

The Chairmanship hopeful added that, as the immediate past Special Adviser to the governor on Primary Health, he has garnered enormous experience, not only in the area of primary health, but also secondary health, promising to implement a robust programme to transform the Primary and Secondary health care sector of Ehime Mbano, when elected.

He promised to incorporate fellow aspirants in his electioneering process and eventual government, if given the privilege to emerge as the flag bearer of APC for the LGA election.

Iwu added his voice in pleading with Nigerian youths to shelve the planned August 1st nationwide protest, exercise more patience and give the present government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu time to implement his economic reforms, geared towards reviving the ailing economy.

For Imo State and Ehime Mbano youths in particular, he reminded them that Governor Hope Uzodimma, since the inception of his administration, has been implementing numerous youths empowerment programmes, Chiefly among which is the Skill-up Imo ICT Technology empowerment programme.

Also according to the Chairmanship aspirant, the recent Federal Government’s stand on the financial autonomy of the LGAs is among the reforms being championed by President Bola Tinubu to take development down to the grassroots and have youths involved in governance, which will greatly reduce youths unemployment and generally contribute to improved economic fortunes for the country.
