The Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma, on Saturday, joined other prominent Nigerians to pay their last respect to Late Elder Margaret Chinyere Ukeagu, at the Township Stadium, Umuahia.

According to a press statement endorsed by Dr. Charles Uzopuo, the Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor of Imo State, Lady (Dr) Chinyere Ekomaru, late Elder Margaret Ukeagu was the beloved mother of Mr. Kenneth Ukeagu, a Federal Commissioner with the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC). She was aged 76.

The Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma who was a special guest at the funeral, was ably represented by the State Deputy Governor, Lady Chinyere Ekomaru, who came in company of her husband, Barr. Chukwuma Ekomaru, SAN.

The deputy governor conveyed the prayers and thoughts of the governor and people of Imo state  to the family, while encouraging them to preserve the legacy of their fallen matriarch.

Other guests at the event were; the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, the Governor of Enugu State, Barr. Peter Mbah, the Governor of Taraba State, Gov. Agbu Kefas, the Deputy Governor of Ebonyi State, Mrs. Patricia Obila, the Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, Hon. Chike Okafor, among other personalities across the country.

Late Elder Chinyere Margaret Ukeagu was honoured in a befitting burial ceremony that reflected her impactful life.
