It was a bumper harvest of celebrations as the Collins Obi’s dynasty of Ugiri, Isiala Mbano LGA of Imo State welcomed their daughter in-law, former Miss NneomaAchigbu, who was joined in marriage, traditionally to her heartthrob, Dominic Chinedu Obi, son of High Chief and High Chief Mrs Collins Obi.

The traditional marriage which took place at the bride’s father’s compound, Amaorji-ugwu, in Nkwerre Local Government Area of Imo State attracted the high and mighty in Imo State and beyond.

Fielding questions from newsmen during the ceremony, mother of the groom and former Special Adviser to Governor Hope Uzodimma on Trade, High Chief Mrs Collins Obi (Nneoma JP), said it had been her earnest heart desires to see her son get married.

“There was no woman he had ever loved, except Nneoma. I give God all the glory for making it happen. Today is my happiest day in life. I wish them good luck, long life and prosperity”.

Speaking to the press, the bridegroom, Dominic Chinedu Obi expressed overwhelming joy for becoming a man in the Nigerian culture, which is by getting married.

He described his wife as; beautiful in all ramifications, assuring her of peace, love and all the care she deserves.

In her own response, the bride, former Miss Nneoma Achigbu said: “I am elated, I am excited, I am so happy, and I am grateful to God for today.

“To my husband, I want to tell him, thank you. I love him and cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with him”.

Father of the groom High Chief Collins Obi, while expressing happiness at the turn out of events, prayed God to give the new couple long life, children (male and female) and every good thing in life.

Also answering questions from newsmen, former Secretary to Imo State Government, Sir Jude Ejiogu expressed fulfilment that Chinedu has got hooked, as according to him, after doing the basic necessities of youthful life and growing into adulthood, the next thing for a man is to get married.

Responding, father of the bride, Architect Chinyere Achigbu lacked words to express his feelings which he said is mixed feeling, of emotion that his only daughter was leaving them and of joy that she has got married, praying God to bless them with the choicest blessings.

Mother of the groom, Lady Ifeoma Achigbu described her only daughter as; obedient, lovely, intelligent and God fearing, expressing overwhelming joy and gratitude to God for making the day possible, while praying God to shower them with everything that is good in life.

An uncle of the bride and the Chief Medical Director, Federal Teaching Hospital, Owerri, Dr. Kingsley Achigbu described Nneoma as precious pearl to the family, praying for the marriage to keep rooting deeper in God and for God to lead them to build a family which the sweet wine will never run dry.

Responding to newsmen, the elder sister (first child in the family of the bridegroom), Mrs Juliet Anosike had this to say: “I feel so glad, blessed and fulfilled that God has answered my prayer. I only pray for God’s understanding upon their lives, unity and love”.
