The Chairman of Imo State Independent Electoral Commission (ISIEC), Chief Charles Ejiogu has read the riot act to the entire workforce of the Commission, insisting that they must exhibit uncommon diligence and transparency in the discharge of their statutory responsibility to the numerous publics of the Commission.

Chief Charles Ejiogu stated this during the routine interface with the twenty- seven (27) Electoral Officers. He charged the EOs to shun corrupt tendencies during the upcoming party primaries, as they would, on behalf of the Commision, ensure mandatory compliance in line with relevant Sections of the 2022 Electoral Act as amended, which stipulates that the electoral management body is duty-bound to observe all Primary elections.

Chief Charles Ejiogu enthused that ISIEC’s presence during the primaries would lend ample credence to the quest of fostering internal democracy on the part of registered political parties.

While responding on behalf of the Electoral Officers, MrLivinusOkpara (EO for Orlu LGA) assured the management and staff that the Elecoral Officers would not let the Commission, government and good people of Imo State down.

The interface, which took place atthe Commission’s operational Headquarters, had in attendance, the six (6) Commissioners, Administrative Secretary, HOD- operations, HOD- Party Monitoring and HOD- Voter Education.
