The Imo Progressive Forum, a vibrant political pressure group, has commended the Governor of Imo state His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, for his indelible footprints on the sand of time by way of unprecedented delivery of democracy dividend of critical infrastructure; roads, health care and education.
This was stated by Barr. Obinwa Etukemka, who stood in for the convener of the group Rt. Hon Kanma Nwauwa when the Forum paid a solidarity visit to the Chairman of Imo State Independent Electoral Commission ( ISIEC), Chief Charles Ejiogu in his office.
Barr. Obinwa Etukemka on behalf of Imo Progressive Forum, noted with utmost satisfaction the Progressive strides of ISIEC towards the conduct of a peaceful , transparent, and credible Local Government Council elections in Imo State and commended His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma for creating the enabling environment for a successful upcoming Council elections scheduled to hold on Saturday 21st September, 2024.
In his response, the Chairman of Imo State Independent Electoral Commission (ISIEC) Chief Charles Ejiogu expressed gratitude to the leaders of Imo State Progressive Forum for finding time to pay him a solidarity visit.
Chief Charles Ejiogu assured Members of the forum that ISIEC is not oblivious to the expectations of Imolites towards the democratisation process at the grassroots and would leave no stone unturned in ensuring that this grand desire of Imolites remains a reasoned one.
Chief Ejiogu appealed to the leadership of Imo Progressive Forum to deploy its members and vast network in assisting ISIEC in deepening its ongoing sensitization and mobilization efforts in order to bring about a hitch free and credible Council elections, even as the recruitment of Ad-Hoc staff is making steady progress.
Those in attendance were past public office holders, business moguls, professionals, and opinion leaders such as former Commissioner Chief Ifeanyi Onwueyiagba, Commissioner Chief Maxwell Nwokeji, Chief Alex , Oshiris, Barr. Mike Ohaka, Surveyor Obinna Eboh, Hon. Julius Onyeneho, Hon. Fabian Okorie and others.
