The Chairman of Isu Local Government, Chief Kenneth Ukah has declared that his administration with witness tremendous developmental projects for which the people will remember and assured that no part of the area would be left untouched in his quest to bring smiles to the faces of the people.
He reiterated that the sorry state of infrastructure in Isu will soon be confined to the dustbin as his administration has commenced people oriented programmes and projects that will impact positively on the people.
Ukah, who said this during the flag off of the first phase of solar energy street light distribution across the communities in the council area, said his government will continue to work in line with the Shared Prosperity mantra of the governor, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma.
He described the governor as a statesman that had come to wipe away the tears of many years of mis-governance and that his legacy projects across the length and breadth of Imo State speak for themselves.
The Isu council boss maintained that the solar street light distribution was in line with his visionary and people centered programmes, adding that it goes to show the unwavering commitment of his regime to the people that elected him and also promised he will continue to carry every segment along.
“I want to let the people of Isu know that we have come to work and to wipe away the many years of infrastructure decadence. What we are doing will touch all the communities in Isu. No community will be left out. Let me assure all and sundry that every community will be carried along in the journey of progress, unity and inclusive government.
“This laudable initiative reflects my administration’s determination to bring lasting infrastructure, security and development closer to the grassroots. We have done other projects, but this one is very symbolic.
The Chairman assured that this is just the beginning, as the second phase of the solar energy street light distribution project will soon reach other communities across Isu LGA, ensuring that no community is left behind.
“With this project, Isu is not only being illuminated physically but also being positioned as a model of people-oriented governance in Imo State and beyond”, he said and called all the communities to ensure that projects domiciled in their respect domains were properly secured.
The Deputy Chairman, Hon. Kingsley Mbagwu, who supervised the official handover of the solar-powered street lights to the Traditional Rulers and representatives of the respective communities described the chairman as a thorough administrator.
He said that the Kenneth Ukah-led administration is intentional about transparent leadership, accountability, and equal distribution of democratic dividends and called on the people to always align themselves with his government.
In their responses, the traditional rulers and community representatives showered encomiums on the Chairman, his Deputy, and the entire Isu leadership team, saying that Ukah has already left his imprints on the sands of time.
They described this project as a testament of true grassroots leadership and prayed fervently for God’s blessings upon the administration of Chief Kenneth Ukah, whose name they declared will be remembered in the history of Isu as a leader who worked tirelessly to make the local government truly great.
This project, they noted, is not only a step towards modernization but also a symbol of light, safety, and renewed hope for the people of Isu and that generations unborn will witness this tremendous change in the leadership narrative in the area.
The first phase of the Solar energy street light distribution project was successfully delivered to five (5) communities in Isu, namely: Umundugba, Ezisu, Ekwe Ancient Kingdom, Uburuekwe, and Isunjaba Ancient Kingdom.
