Factional Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Tony Okocha, has declared that the alleged misconduct of suspended Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, cannot be pardoned, even if he defects to the party.
Speaking at a press briefing in Abuja, Okocha stated that Fubara’s alleged offences were not merely political, but constituted actions “against the people of Rivers State,” citing interpretations from the Supreme Court. He dismissed reports of reconciliation efforts, claiming he was unaware of any peace initiative from the embattled governor.
Okocha also accused Fubara of inciting political tension by allegedly boasting about returning to power, which he says has emboldened the governor’s supporters and fueled unrest.
This development comes roughly three months after President Bola Tinubu declared a state of emergency in Rivers State, suspending several elected officials over security concerns.
