A renowned Orlu community woman leader, Mrs. Ebiddy Ifeoma Tony, has advised the newly married couple from Orsu Local Government Area, Chinaza Norah and Stanley Ugochukwu Ezemezie, to always strive to uphold tolerance, forgiveness and God’s intervention in their marriage, especially at the point of any emerging misunderstanding.

She made this disclosure to the media recently at the residence of Chief Paschal Nnaomadiebube Ezikeojiaku, Umuguma, in Owerri West Local Government Area of the state, where the traditional wedding ceremony of Norah and Ugochukwu Ezemezie was held.

The soft-spoken woman and a marriage counsellor stated that they should not in any way see marriage as a bed of roses because it has its sweet and bad moments which can only be handled through the application of an understanding.

She said: ” though, we are all weak as persons, so as our faces are different. Remembering that we are from different homes to come to meet together as God has said it, it is just to accept that this person is not perfect and you tolerate it. Tolerance is what I advise them, you should tolerate and forgive each other. Truly, it is not an easy road, but with God, all things are possible”.

She added that in the time of trouble both of them must not fail to seek the face of God together through prayers so as to build a better home, stressing that they should not seek an advice from their parents and friends in their marriage.

She equally submitted that couple should not hold any grudges against each other in the course of their living.

Mrs. Tony used same  interaction to  describe the  traditional marriage ceremony of the  couple  held  at  the Umuguma residence of Ezikeojiaku (Ogbuonyeisiogu), father of Norah, as a special one, considering the fact that it served as the first time he  was giving  out her first daughter, Norah, in marriage.  She opined that Chief Ezikeojiaku’s daughter going into marriage was in fulfillment of the biblical desire that permitted daughters to leave their fathers’ homes into other homes via marriage.

Mrs. Tony thanked God for providing a very bright and beautiful day for the held traditional marriage without any rainfall, referring the event as a delight of everybody.

It could be recalled that the held traditional marriage was preceded by the wedding of the couple at St Michael’s Catholic Parish, Umuguma, which attracted many dignitaries from different walks of life.
