Two policemen are feared dead following an attack on their checkpoint by gunmen in Asaga Ohafia, Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia State.

The attack occurred just two days after gunmen killed a policeman attached to Hon. Ginger Onwusibe, the lawmaker representing Isiala Ngwa North/Isiala Ngwa South federal constituency, during an incident in Umuahia on Sunday night.

According to sources, the gunmen targeted the checkpoint, shooting one policeman whose identity is yet to be confirmed. Another officer involved in the attack is also feared dead.

Efforts to reach the Police Public Relations Officer, Abia State Command, ASP Maureen Chinaka, for comments were unsuccessful at the time of filing this report.
