The Imo state Deputy Governor, Lady (Dr.) Chinyere Ekomaru, was today, in her office at the Government House, invested the Grand Patron of Trefoil Guild of Nigeria, Imo state chapter. The investiture was done by the leadership of the group in Imo state, led by Adaejiejemba Louis Chinyere Ozuzu.
The delighted Deputy Governor thanked the group for the honour done to her and appreciated the selfless community service the group is doing, especially, in assisting the girl child have a voice and actualise her dreams.
“Thank you for supporting one another, striving for excellence and being role models to younger ones in the society. Your potentials are unlimited and I promise to proudly wear your badge”, the Deputy Governor said.
The Deputy Governor also encouraged the group to reach out to the First Lady, Her Excellency Barr. Chioma Uzodimma, whom she described as the mother of all Imolites, while noting her efforts in the promotion of the girl child and emphasized that the Imo First Lady is always disposed for the advancement of the course of the girl child.
The leader of the group, Adaejiejemba Louis Chinyere Ozuzu, in her address while performing the investiture, appreciated the Deputy Governor for granting their request to accord her the honour which comes with great responsibility.
Mrs Ozuzu enjoined the general public to join them to take care of women, assist them in women advocacy and protection of the rights of the girl child.
Marking the brief ceremony was a cultural dance by young school children who accompanied the group.
The principal officers of the Office of the Deputy Governor who witnessed the investiture were; Principal Secretary, Mr. John Njoku, Deputy Chief of Staff, Sir (Barr) Tobechi Ekomaru, Director of Administration and Finance, Dr. Lynda Ogbu, Director of Accounts, Mrs. Kate Okorie and Director of Procurement, Mrs Eucharia Uzoka.
