As Imo State LG Election draws near, APC members: leaders and followers, have been urged to elect a woman to occupy the Executive Chairmanship seat of Oguta Council to balance gender political right, as well as improve good leadership at the locality.

This urge was made by Princess Calista Anene, a foremost aspirant for Oguta LG Chairmanship seat while speaking to journalists in Owerri on Monday.

Anene, a humanitarian and illustrious daughter of Oguta Ameshi pleaded with the good people of Oguta to give woman a chance to be Chairman of Oguta Council so that positive changes would be made to lift the oil rich local government to greater heights.

She said she is ready for the task as she has the political, leadership, financial and emotional capacities and strength to lead Oguta to improve the economy and enhance good living.

According to her, “I am aspiring to become the Executive Chairman of Oguta Council in order to strengthen goodness and progress of the area. I will always live for humanity. I’m motivated to give the people of Oguta true leadership. I’m going to tackle infrastructure deficiency, attract investment”.

Anene who reflected that she contributed greatly to the reelection of Governor Hope Uzodimma, said she is going to follow the footsteps of the champion of Shared Prosperity Government by enlivening good governance in Oguta if she becomes Chairman.

The former SSA to the Governor pointed out that some of the areas her administration will focus mainly are Education, Health and Agriculture, Electricity and Employment, stating that these areas are important for the edification and goodness of Oguta LGA. “I will make quality education available and affordable for the needy, low income families, as brilliant young graduates will be recruited to teach in our schools and paid well so that they impact more positive knowledge in the children to help catch them young, to ensure we raise responsible, resourceful adults who will pilot Oguta efficiently in the future.

“Working Healthcare will be advanced as modern facilities will be installed in hospitals to help save lives of women, children and senior citizens among others. I have value for life and family cycle. In fact, we are going to subsidize health to enable less-privileged access quality and affordable medication to live healthy and longer.

“Oguta is richly known as agrarian area whose indigenes are active and predominant farmers/fishermen. To enhance food sufficiency and food security, my administration will invest much into agriculture with the procurement of tractors/equipments, provide seedlings and fertilizers to farmers. Young people will also be encouraged to do active farming to become more useful, productive and financially independent, she emphasized.

She stressed that electricity, youths and women empowerment are also going to be prioritized.

“Woman should be elected Oguta Council Chairman to make great difference. I have been a career woman until I relocated to Canada where I intensified humanitarian services especially to the needy and the poor. I shall meet the collective needs of Oguta people because I know what they need. I will turn Oguta Lake into a World Tourism where people will come and pay money to have fun and enjoyment and such a feat would increase revenue with many being employed”, Anene maintained.

While hailing Uzodimma over his Supreme Court victory, Anene called on the people of Oguta to see her fit and worthy for the Executive Chairmanship Seat and elect her.

She begged the people of Oguta LGA to give her maximum support to enable her win the poll, appealing to those who she might have wronged to find a place in their hearts to forgive her, saying she was only being raw with the truth as her outspokenness is geared to defend the poor and the vulnerable.
