The Imo State Congress of America (ISCA) has concluded arrangements for its annual Women Committee Forum which holds July 27, 2024, in Oklahoma United States of America. The event will have in attendance dignitaries within and outside the city.

A press release signed by the PRO Mrs Evelyn Iwuamadi Childs, and the National Womens Committee Chairlady, High Chief Mrs. Agnes Obaji, disclosed that the Committee has much for the ISCA National women organization through initiatives that have empowered many internationally.

According to her the committees history, had many First Ladies, but in 2014, under the leadership of Lolo Nkemdi Onyirimba and her executive board, the organization moved ISCA to a new dimension, adding that they made numerous contributions to support their own in the US; emotionally and financially during ceremonies.

She availed that the association has also empowered widows, widowers, special children and the less privileged in Imo State, including supporting small scale businesses, as she hinted that they also initiated the building of bus stop shades in some road axis in Owerri capital city few years ago with a maintenance culture and hope to upgrade the dilapidated ones, while building new ones to capture other areas.

The press release added that the organization also encourage their women in USA to speak in their native Igbo language within their homes to maintain their roots. Adding that It is In accompaniment to tracing their roots.

The release further disclosed that the Congress holds an annual Ada Imo Beauty Pageant where young girls aged 18-25 showcase their knowledge and commitment to Imo beliefs and culture.

The ISCA boss however disclosed that this year, women are participating to ensure that this becomes the best convention they have ever had. Pointing out that their conferences theme is Essential Tips For Better Health Women empowering women, in line with the National Theme Imo Gadi, noted that they have outlined the activities to improve and strengthen the lives of less privilege women in the state from different backgrounds and localities.

The release disclosed that speakers at the event will include; Lady Franca Ibe, Lady Ugboaku Akwaugo Onuoha and Lolo Ezinne Ijeoma Nwanebu, while Hon. Amb. Dr. Stella Onuoha will moderate at the occasion.
